Joe and his wife Michal have been part of the Immanuel family since of December 2005. They have been married for nearly five years and have lived in Fort Collins for just as long. They met at a Christian sports camp for youth in Texas, and they both have been fired up about loving and serving others, especially teens and children, ever since.
Joe grew up in Iowa and Colorado and graduated from Western State College in Colorado with a degree in English Literature. Joe ran cross country in college and has been a track coach, basketball coach, youth pastor and assistant director at Camp Timberline, a local Christian sports and mountain adventure camp since his graduation. Michal grew up in California, played volleyball and graduated from Arkansas State University, and has a degree in elementary education.
Joe is honored to be able to walk daily alongside so many incredible middle and high school students and he lives to participate in endless and outrageous adventure and fellowship with them. He also loves to play any kind of game, anytime, run, play basketball, write, read, and do anything in the mountains. Joe’s heart is to get to know young people through deep, meaningful relationships as they grow together to affect the world for Jesus Christ while simultaneously having more fun than thought possible celebrating His Gift of Eternal Life!

God led Joe and his family to relocate in April 2009 from Georgia. He is passionate about seeing the children become disciples and building God's community at Immanuel. He is privileged to serve and care for them by working with teams of people who desire to glorify God. His call is to equip kids and parents to join in God’s work wherever God leads them. Joe loves to teach and to see people of all ages grow in their relationship with Jesus. His wife, Leigh Anne, is a Registered Nurse at Poudre Valley Hospital and they have two sons, Alex and Scott. Since he is from the South, Joe is a fanatic for football, especially his alma mater the "Big Orange" of the University of Tennessee.
