What Can I Expect?
We were made to worship.
More specifically, we were made to worship the God
who created us! Psalms 100:2-3 say’s,
“Worship the Lord
with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us…”
Everyone worships something or someone, and we
worship the One who made us, knows us and loves us
passionately – the One who has proved His love
through the sacrificial gift of His Son, Jesus
Christ.
Defining worship at
Immanuel can be expressed in 3 words:
engaging, exalting
and encouraging.
ENGAGING
We believe worship is about participation, not
performance. Our music is led by a band and
worship team through an upbeat, contemporary style
of music, but the purpose of worship is to engage
believers in participatory worship. God is the
spectator and we are all the participants.
EXALTING
We express our love to God and give praise to the
God of the Universe. He is all-powerful and
full of love - God deserves our praise!
ENCOURAGING
Part
of the worship experience is to hear what God has to say to us through
the Bible. You will be inspired by creative, relevant and practical
Bible teaching and communication of the Bible.
We
also realize that there are some who will make their
way to Immanuel Community Church that are new to the
Christian faith. We are sensitive in our worship
services to communicate in terms that everyone can
understand and we are careful to relate to those who
do not have a church background. We never embarrass
or put anyone on the spot. All are welcome!
